Sharing this journey/adventure has been really important to me....I know it's hard to fit in the time, but I have loved seeing how everyone is getting on...so here's another post from windy England...
Making the Medieval shoes was quite a cha
llenge, but we've picked it up and set it aside when we wanted to do something else. The children loved using my old SINGER sewing-machine. This is (xxx)'s Poulain shoe.
Staying up late to finish off.
Of course we had to make two...Lots of work but worth it.
We also 'Scoured' our wool from the Shetland Islands, then carded it ready to spin. If anyone wants some of the cleaned wool...it's lovely stuff...I would be more than happy to share, as we have way more than we need.
Our wool was washed with apple shampoo s
o smells nice (it was very stinky before!)
Squeezing and hanging the wool over the bath to dry.
We went to 'The Potteries' or Stoke-On-Trent and saw where Wedgewood was buried and some old 'Pot Banks' or 'Bottle Kilns'... The old plates were brilliant...
Wedgewood and (xxx)!
Well, time for bed. Hope all's well with everyone.
Mandy
